#BeautyConPop Los Angeles | Selfies & Empowerment
“Girls of all kinds can be beautiful - from the thin, plus-sized, short, very tall, ebony to porcelain-skinned; the quirky, clumsy, shy, outgoing and all in between. It’s not easy though because many people still put beauty into a confining, narrow box...Think outside of the box...Pledge that you will look in the mirror and find the unique beauty in you.”
Last weekend I was invited by BeautyCon to check out their first experiential pop-up, BeautyCon Pop, in Los Angeles. I walked through 8 interactive beauty galleries designed in partnership with Lime Crime, Laneige, Mamonde and Macy’s and did my best to be “influencer of the year” in all the Instagram selfie worthy spaces.
One thing I really admired about this event was the subtle empowerment messages at the entrance of each gallery.
Looking back at Beautycon Media's CEO, Moj Mahdara, interview with Coveteur, the brand is working to remind you that “everyone has something about them that’s beautiful, and [we] just want to be the brand that helps them get there.”
It is refreshing to see a multi-million dollar company working to promote beauty without boundaries. While getting a selfie in the Drake inspired “Hotline Bling” room is great, inclusion is also important.
Thanks Again BeautyCon <3
