2018 BEST OF ARTIST MERCH

2018 has been a difficult year in music. Through tragedy and misfortune, so many promising stars such as XXXtentacion, Mac Miller, Fredo Santana and Jimmy Wopo, lost their lives as their music began to impact fans globally. While we mourned their loss, rap beefs between heavy hitters sprung up like weeds and as unwarranted as they were, we all fed into all of the Nicki Minaj vs Cardi B, Eminem vs. Machine Gun Kelly and Kanye West vs. Drake headlines. Then came numerous scandals, the over-saturation of albums, eps, and mixtape, the merge of extreme political opinions, twitter policing, and a bunch of hot takes. This year came fast, lasted for a quick 4 months and left us with a lot of questionable moments.

On the bright-side, thanks to creative minds like Travis Scott, Drake, Post Malone, Zayn and Justin Timberlake, artist merchandise has now began effecting the way Billboard ranks it’s top albums and singles.

Welcome to the new era of Bundling.

Bundling - A way for an artist to sell albums, singles or projects with added incentives such as merchandise or concert tickets in order to chart boost.

Due to bundling I had to look at collaborations and merchandise that was online only accesses or created by artist that did not go one tour. This year there are a lot of honorable mentions and thanks to the plethora of lacking creativity, this was a easier ranking than the years before. Sadly there was no Ariana <3 Pete hoodie or a Rap God vs Rap Devil tee (hit me up if you need concepts) for me to add to the list but, we can all dream for next year.

P.S. - I predict that there will be a surge of tasteless merchandise produced in 2019 thanks to bundling so don’t worry if your favorite rappers rapper hasn’t created anything yet, it’s probably at the Gildan warehouse.

Now Lets Get To The Merch.
