#UnderpinLA | Mlaed's "Sausage Fest"
“Sausage Fest” by Mlaed. The first fashion show from Parson’s graduate and Brooklyn based designer, Michael Laed presented by Underpin PR in Los Angeles.
Michael Laed is dedicated to creating a “zero waste” and sustainable fashion label as conciously as possible. By working with thrift stores such as Out of the Closet, and sourcing garments and textiles that could potentially add to the 10 million pound textile to landfill problem yearly, Land is giving new life and perspective to everyday garments.
Styled by Ashley Munns , the first fashion show switched the roles of models with the audience. As guest were ushered into a private gallery, 3 at a time, “models” cheered and gave standing ovations to unsuspecting guest. Guest instantly transformed into “runway models” and mingled with their new found “audience” as photographers gave them their undivided attention.
The presentation spoke of inclusion. Not only in the eyes of Laed, who used a beautiful sections of LGBTQ+ models of all colors and sizes, but with the involvement of those who supported Mlaed’s first show.
