#NYFW | F/FFFFFF SS19
Have you ever wondered what we would look in a post-apocalyptic world where we listened to A$AP Rocky on repeat and we were different versions of Cynthia from Rugrats in hazmat suits colored with Nickelodeon slim? If so, the SS19 collection of F/FFFFFF is your dream come true.
F/FFFFFF stands for family, friends, family. Newly developed, F/FFFFFF is a fashion brand created by Zac Zeng, former ELLE HOMME Creative Director, in 2017. Based in China, Zeng says that the brand is in the pursue of refining beauty and delicacy. With strong inspiration coming from romanticism and the irrationality that is coupled with the male image, the label is pushing boundaries.
SS19 theme tackles the balance of the modern technologic age and our infinite lust for nature and simplicity. Zeng sees China, home of the label and his inspirational scenery for the collection, as "a giant dragon slowly waking up, with forces colliding and blending with it's own body, and is emerging as a new influential vitality." This fight between heaven and humanity or heaven and earth has been written in Eastern philosiphy for centuries. While viewing the collection you can see the mystery, aura and reality of the worlds ever changing dynamic. Rapid development, living through a digital screen, cultural norms breaking as well as climate changes are all happening around us in this fight. It's all about the beauty and destruction.
Maybe we are heaven and the clothes and hazardous colors represent the humanity that we have created. I will let you decide.
