#NYFW | Videmus Omnia A/W 19

Designer Run Qu is a master of Haute Couture Grunge. Her third collection, “Enigma,” was inspired by the Renaissance of the 14th-16th centuries, 19th century Impressionism and mid 80’s grunge music. The A/W 19 collection takes its influence from “nihilistic, angst-filled lyrics” and “impressionism art of open composition and emphasis on depiction of light in its changing qualities.”

Experimental makeup that is as thin and airy as a Monet or Renoir painting, construction as detailed and opulent as an Elizabethan gown, accessories fitting of a 80’s Glam Rock/ Glam Metal legend mixed with a huge dose of the dark wardrobe of Japanese Visual Kei pioneers such as Dir En Grey & The Gazette; a collection made for fashion maven’s looking for edge, history and couture.

Qu continues to be an art and music history buff on the runway. If you have tuned in to her past two collections for Videmus Omnia, you are aware of the intricate ruffling of fabric and the never ending story that flows from each garment through the seasons. She continues to push Avant-garde fashion to knew heights and isn’t afraid to play with different materials or the silhouettes on a woman’s body. Videmus Omnia always creates a show stopping performance for fashion week.
