#FASHIONGOESHOME | A #NYFW QUARANTINE FASHION PRESENTATION WITH REBECCA MINKOFF
Welcome to the “new normal.” Fashion for quarantine dates, zoom calls, remote working and adventurous moments …
6 feet apart.
Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall 2020 collection is titled #FASHIONGOESHOME. A ode to today’s current affairs as we all get use to limiting our outside activities to stay safe. Instead of following the virtual fashion showcase trend for this season of NYFW, Minkoff collaborated with home improvement superstore, Lowe’s, and production house’s IMGFocus and Eyesight , to transform the rooftop of Spring Studios into a safe trip into the living rooms of the fashionable and chic.
Sticking to her signature New Yorker roots, Minkoff keep her muse in dark leather and heavy fall/winter textiles such as sherpa and wool. She’s a rocker at heart and now that she’s older she is updating her 1970’s Debbie Harry aesthetic for something refined for the Sunset Strip. For the last 6 months of quarantine, the Minkoff girl has been working from home, taking care of her family and friends and binge watching anything to remind her of her time out on the town. Heathers. The Dirt. Labyrinth. Desperately Seeking Susan . Purple Rain. You name it. She’s made it a point to create a relaxing self-care day where she uses KISS nail products for those at home mani and pedi’s right before she practices her air guitar solos in her study as the kids are napping. For the days she does have to go out for coffee runs and grocery trips, she pairs her dark washed jeans, bedazzled face mask and wool-blend tailored coat with her Rebecca Minkoff x Medela Pump and Baby Bag. She’s on the go, but she’s safe, functional and fashionable.
Thanks to quarantine she’s gotten use to paring her leather skirts with her significant other’s flannels her influx of leopard print garments she’s been purchasing online weekly. The leopard print is keeping her sane all quarantine. It’s that one print that makes her usual black on black bedazzled wardrobe pop for now until she can get to a flagship store and shop as normal.
Here are some of my favorite looks from the rooftop of Spring Studios.
