Earlier this month, Los Angeles based street chic label, NO.J , held a private runway show at the Ace Hotel presented by UnderPinPR . Created by Chinese “triple threat” designer, Jane Wu, “The Number J” is a womenswear brand catering to the luxury market and merging elegance with edge.
The Fall/Winter 19 collection showcased an accentuated marriage between the Matrix’s futurism and todays popular grunge street style. Fittied cargo vest, utilitarian functionality and a minimalist color pallet consisting of black, grey, white and red ran throughout the presentation as models accesoried by silver chains and harnesses walked the runway. In a way, the dark romantic scene creates a wardrobe for an adult version of Mathilda from Léon: The Professional . She’s powerful, clever and bad ass.
