#NYFW | C+ Plus SERIES SS19
Designed by C.T. Liu, C+ Plus SERIES dares to balance classic streetwear with modern urban attire. Liu expressed a need to embody modern feminism and emulating the internal spiritual form through fashion. He is withholding certain fashion elements to focus on the integrity of his work, hence the added “+” in C+ Plus SERIES label name. Less than 1 year from launch, Liu is doing everything he can to pay homage to the career woman living in the modern age. The C+ Plus SERIES answer to this internal struggle: Extreme Sportswear.
The SS19 collection, showcases a sporty black on black “fashion tuxedo” and adds pops of royal blue, silver and earthy hues to statement pieces that could be worn by city dwellers and career women alike. One of my favorite elements to the collection is the use of fringe, distressing and ruching as a layering effect. From the fringe on the oversized blazer train and distressed jean assemble to the ruching of the body con dresses and athletic pants, these elements give silhouettes that are looked at as masculine a femininity appeal.
The SS19 collection is presented as “creative clothing for woman who not only survive, but strive with grace in the urban jungle.”
